1629 words on the last scene in the story, putting me more than halfway through the scene. Yay! :-)

Nice work! Are you looking forward to being finished, or sad that it’s almost over? Or both?

It's a little of both. On the one hand, I'll have completed my bingo card, which gives me satisfaction, but on the other, it means I have to get serious about working on original stuff, which is, well, WORK, as opposed to the pure pleasure of writing fanfiction, so... Yes, definitely mixed feelings! :-)

I totally understand - it can be so much less fun when it's for work. But still, exciting that you're gearing up to work on some original stuff!

No reason to feel silly at all! YAY for you for writing an alibi sentence--you're keeping your hand in this writing daily thing even WITH a new job on the table. That's HUGE! :-)

Day 6: About 670 words, most of them about a book I'm reading (about subtext!) which may turn into a longish review.

Nice job! What’s the book? Would it be a negative review or would you recommend it?

The book is The Art of Subtext, by Charles Baxter (published by Graywolf Press). It's great! I'm still only halfway through, but am really enjoying it. It's part of a series, "The Art of--," which is edited by Baxter. I also ordered The Art of Recklessness: Poetry as Assertive Force and Contradiction by Dean Young, which from the sample I read, is a LOT more fun than the rather dry title indicates...

The Art of Subtext sounds really interesting! I knew Graywolf Press was a small fiction publisher (we read a few books from there when I was doing my creative writing minor in college and their logo is like weirdly memorable), but didn't know that they also did nonfiction.

April 6 - 210ish words, another drabble-poem, and a little over 100 words on the dragon piece that may have brought it to a conclusion. I'll see what my beta reader says.

Some more paragraphs tumbled out on my main project, which is good. I think that means the first scene is complete, and I have several other singular lines to craft scenes around for later on in the work.
